South Asia Star Award 2025 Honors Debashis Das for Leadership in Creative Branding

In a celebration that merged artistry, innovation, and cultural pride, Debashis Das—a leading figure in Bangladesh’s television graphics and digital branding landscape—was honored with the South Asia Star Award 2025. Recognized in the category of International Leadership in Creative Branding, this award serves as a prestigious acknowledgment of his remarkable contributions to South Asian media and design.
The grand ceremony took place on Saturday, August 2, at 3 PM at the Kochi-Kacha Auditorium, Segunbagicha, Dhaka. Organized by the South Asia Literary Council, the event was themed “Let Literature Be Universal”—an idea that harmoniously connected the realms of art, design, and communication. The chief guest of the evening was Mohammad Arafatur Rahman Appel, Chairman of Insperium Globality Limited and Director of Press Club Club Limited, whose presence added significant stature to the occasion.
The award show was anything but formal and stiff—it was a vivid, joyful explosion of South Asian creativity. A rich cultural program unfolded through the evening, including poetry recitation, music, dance, theatrical performances, and other artistic expressions that turned the auditorium into a canvas of shared inspiration. Media coverage and promotion were amplified by Global Voice 24, the official media partner, who played a crucial role in bringing the event to a wider audience.
For Debashis Das, this award adds another star to his already luminous career. Known for his groundbreaking work in motion graphics and visual branding, Debashis has been a force of innovation in the industry since 2007, when he started his career at RTV. Over the years, he transformed the visual landscape of Jamuna Television, infusing branding with local flavor, emotional storytelling, and clean aesthetics. Now serving as Deputy Manager of Graphics at Maasranga Television, Debashis continues to elevate the medium with fresh, forward-thinking visual identities for news, entertainment, and special programming.
But his journey isn't limited to broadcast media. Debashis is also a respected educator, currently teaching at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute and acting as a guest faculty member at Dhaka University’s Department of Television, Film, and Photography. His teaching emphasizes not just software skills but also design psychology, narrative construction, and creative strategy—empowering students to develop complete visual concepts. His mentorship has guided many young designers into successful creative careers, cementing his legacy as both a leader and a cultivator of talent.
In addition to his creative and academic roles, Debashis has served as a jury member for international competitions, most notably in the “For a Better, Greener Earth” global motion graphics contest. His voice is valued not just for technical mastery, but for vision—one that sees design as a bridge between culture, emotion, and communication. He has also designed more than 200 book covers for Bangladeshi authors, applying his visual philosophy to the world of literature.
Receiving the South Asia Star Award is more than an individual triumph. It is a recognition of how creative branding, when executed with depth and purpose, can transform not only programs and publications—but hearts and minds. Debashis Das represents the power of homegrown talent on the international stage, and this award is a reminder of the brilliance that South Asia continues to contribute to the global creative dialogue.
