It has been a busy summer for Pokémon fans as the much-awaited movie was released in theaters along with fan loved Team Rocket within the game.
Now with the August community day coming for Pokémon Go, it is surely going to be an even busier month for them. The event is held by Niantic is on upcoming Saturday on the 3rd of August.
So what is this Community Day, you may ask? Basically, it means a chance of catching a rare Pokemon within some selected hours. Within these hours the spawn of the selected Pokemon will be increased, and you will get a chance to catch it when it roams in the wild.
August’s featured Pokemon
This time the Pokemon selected by Niantic is Ralts, a Psychic/Fairy Pokemon which was originally introduced in the Ruby and Sapphire.
During the community day hours, which is usually three hours, Ralts will be spawned more frequently than usual, thus increasing your chance of capturing this rare gem. Also during this time, you can also catch a shiny Ralts which is even rarer since catching a shiny Pokémon is a rare phenomenon in Pokémon Go.
August’s featured Move
During the event, Ralts can learn two special moves, namely Gardevoir or Gallade. However, you can only equip those moves if your Ralts reaches its final form. Regardless of which move you choose to equip, you will get the Psychic attack Synchronoise if your Ralts is upgraded within an hour before the event ends.
When does it start?
The community day usually runs between 3-6pm local time but this time around like the previous event it is going to take place between 4-7 pm local time.
This is only a temporary change says Niantic and the event would return to its routine time once the summer ends. This change was made as to make the event even more enjoyable because of the season.
Along with all this, Niantic is also offering some other bonuses such as the extension of Lure modules which usually lasts for 30 minutes, but during the event, it will last for three hours. Also, Incubators will be four times as effective as normal; meaning that the Pokémon eggs will be able to hatch quickly and from a shorter distance.
